On June 3-4, 2011 a joint conference of Center for Advance Studies (CAS) and Russian Economic School (RES) on theory of general equilibrium took place in the Higher School of Economics

The conference was dedicated to V. Polterovich, one of the founders of RES, member of Scientific Council of the Higher School of Economics, member of Strategic Council of the Ukrainian PPP Development Support Center.

Among the participants of the conference were famous foreign scientists. Among them: Werner Hildenbrand, prominent German scientist who contributed a lot to the economic theory development, Jean-Michel Grandmont, French economist, theorist, specialist in field of monetary theory and microeconomic basis of macroeconomics, Jean-Francois Mertens, prominent Belgian economist, leading specialist in game theory  and general equilibrium. The key speech was made by a Nobel laureate Eric  Maskin. From the young scientists the following pupils of V. Polterovish have made their speeches: Oleh Itshoki, professor of Princeton University, A. Savateyev, professor of RES, I. Shchepina, docent of Voronezh state University. The conference evoked  a big interest among the academic community, more than 100 persons have participated in it.
