On September 21-22, 2011 in the premises of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine (Kiev, 24 Dymytrova str.) took place International Conference on Promoting Efficient PPPs in Ukraine.
The organizers of the conference:UNECE, Ukrainian PPP Development Support Center, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine.
The participants of the conference learned the international experience of PPP projects implementation in different sectors, the main principles of preparation and initiation of such projects.

On September 20, 2011 in the Hall of Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) (Kyiv, Kreschatik str, 36) took place conference «Potential of PPP projects implementation in field of communal infrastructure modernization». Organizaers: KCSA, Ukrainian PPP Development Support Center, ADETEF. Among the participants of the conference were the representatives of public authority, local governments, international organizations, embassies, consulting companies and experts from Russia, Belorus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, France, Great Britain, USA.
I. Zapatrina, the Chairman of the Board of the Center has made presentation “Implementation of urban infrastructure development projects on the PPP principles – lessons for Ukraine”.

The program was organized by the PPP Development Project supported by USAID. During the event the participants of the Program have studied the experience of PPP projects implementation in Sankt-Petersburg, in particular with normative-legal and institutional support of PPP projects implementation; problem issues that have arisen while developing implementing projects and mechanisms of their solution. The participants of the program have visited urban infrastructure objects implemented in form of PPP, in particular See passenger terminal on Vasilievskiy island, section of paid motorway «Western high-speed diameter», South- west treatment facilities.

The seminar was dedicated to the issues of establishment of national Foresight Center, the mission of the Center shall be development and introduction of modern methodology and methods of scientific foresight of technologies, society and economy development in Ukraine. Among the participants of the seminar were representatives of international organizations, ministries and institutions, regions, NGOs. It was also discussed the opportunity to use Foresight methodology in field of PPP development in Ukraine.

The parties agreed to cooperate in order to promote the use of Public Private Partnerships, supporting projects which improve infrastructure and public services, developing legislative and institutional basis, spreading the knowledge and experience in the sphere of PPP etc.
